Zumn, that means Mike's parents company would need to be willing to dump at a minimum a few grand into him to get the ball rolling, and thats a minimum.
Whoever said the replica companies jump on vendors to move their **** is right - thats a way many companies start out as well.
Mike - if I were you I'd try contacting a venfor on here and see what it took them to get everything moving.

There are "knock off" companies like EXTREME DIMENSIONS that have made BANK and keep making BANK off "knock offs" but then look what happens when you mention EXTREME DIMENSIONS on this forum- you get flamed.
Extreme Dimension is a huge companie IMO and is doing what they do best- collect money... so its a difficult decision in which way to start off the company as.
Personally I'd suggest him to take some business classes right now (like I have in the past) that he's in school to know exactly how a company is run and the liabilites you have.
I'd suggest that he sell LEGIT products. Yeah he can probably provide ROTAS to us at "$600" (once wholesale) but then I would buy some SSR;s off of him for near wholesale price. Theres a lot of business in the SOCAL so his location is a PLUS.
What do you think?

I don't think he's wanting to start a company a la ED, but moreso sell/vend other companies.
Many vendors started out selling Seibon/ED/VIS/etc.
Socal is a good market but there are many many already selling, he'll need a way to get past others and prove his offering is best.
I don't know how he should go about it but a good start would be networking to meet "in people". Then those people can introduce you to more "people" and you can get an in on the business. Buyers need a reason to choose him over the competition, that is if he can fund such a venture.
If I knew how, and thought it could easily be successfully done, I'd do it lol

TILTMODE I have replied with an e-mail on behalf of IZZY and it goes like this....
Hello Kenneth,
My name is Isaias Noe, and I am a proud owner of the New Series II 2009+ RX8. It is a 6 speed and fun to drive! I came upon your AEM Intake Testing Ad on Craigslist by the attention of a fellow RX8club.com Forum member. I am part of the RX8Club.com forum under the screen name IZZYRX8. I have less than 2 thousand miles and have not modified my RX8 in anyway. My Uncle Ricky is also a proud owner of a Mazda RX8 (2004) and is the person responsible for me being a rotary enthusiast. My Uncle Ricky also owns an AEM Cold Air Intake (polished) and I love the way it performs and sounds. The AEM intake is Very popular within the RX8 Community because it does perform and is a nice looking CAI. I have been enjoying the ride so far with my RX8 and am interested in Volunteering in the Intake Testing AEM is needing an RX8 for. I would surely spread the word among fellow RX8 owners. I also live in the Southern California Area and do understand that I will be given a free AEM Intake for my participation and would very much appreciate being chosen for this opportunity. Feel free to contact me at 661-839-xxxx or 661-273-xxxx. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Isaias Noe

what up guys
finally got a break this week. *knock on wood*
the position that i lost last month because of the lady who's baby had passed away called me back and i'm starting a temp gig there. It's not gonna be long term because it looks like I'm just covering for someone who's out for a couple of weeks but i need the cash in a bad way so i'm taking it. If i work the full set time of the assignment i should have 2k to spare for my car payments - which should slow the bleeding down, so to speak. I'm also trying to interview for another spot that'll hire me for longer so hopefully it works out.

I just talked to IZZY, hes HYPE about it, hes at work right no, hes gonna jump on the forum as soon as he gets home and he'll let us know what happens. A free AEM intake and on top of that the first Series II to have a second version of the AEM, I like I like. It has to be a new intake or what not cuz the intake assembly is about the same so..........That would be tight if this goes through i hope we get an email back today or tomorrow. The ad was posted on craigslist today so by us responding ASAP hope we were the 1st ones in.

Mike one piece of advice that I can offer you is to consider doing all this at a location. It is difficult to get companies to let you distribute their product if your planning an online store of some sort.
At SPOCOM I spoke to the guys from Racing Beat and HKS and some others and they gave me the same piece of advice.
