Just pick up a workshop manual and start trouble shooting. if you have compression you already knocked out %70 of the work.

a miata with 103k on it that has been raced around allot inst dependable either. if you want dependable car get a 94-98 yota Celica or the same year civic. That is back when cars were made well.

im not getting a civic never did never will im getting something rwd and stick just with a proven reliablity record, cheap easy to find parts and stuff with decent gas, cause the 14-16 mpg the fc is getting is not so cool

isnt this how picking the FC started....with you wanting a "reliable" daily driver thats RWD and also fun to play in....and something your going to buy parts for.

I agree with the suggestion...if its merely for driving around and cheap on gas you should just get a civic...otherwise you will end up modding and its going to eat up your money

I assumed it had to do with all the turbo talk and whatnot...

Sure, people have responsibilities but given those responsibilities don't you think it would be better not to open one's mouth at all, rather than start threads of going with some massive FI build?

I think Zumn's intentions were good but it's hard to overlook some of his trends.

I'm guilty of similar, the problem with me is that I'm just far too timid to spend any big money on appearance mods. I've come within phone calls of importing some parts/installing but I can't justify spending money on appearance mods when there are so many other things I'd rather do with the car.

NA 13b can be extremely reliable, I think Mike just had a sour taste.

Mike, if you get a miata (or any older, sporty car, for that matter) buy one that is BONE STOCK. There are tons of adult driven 1st owner miatas for sale all the time that are far less likely to have been abused. Then, you can mod it however you'd like, once you're sure it's a reliable car.

fc was supossed to be an ongoing project for my auto classes while keeping the 8, when i decided to get rid of the 8 i thought if i kept the fc simple n stock but its jsut not dependable i dont wanna be like my friend derek 6 months without a car cause his motor blew on him, or like my friend burrito who had just got his t2 swap from lucky 7 400 miles later his car went boom just to name a few,

i will never drive a honda despised em all my life they will never have my business

and modding will always be there, money isnt my concern its the fact the fc is just not ment to be a practical daily.

either way im comming out on top sell both cars buy a cheaper car and put the rest of my money in savings and toward school,

i know tilt i love buying stock because you dont get other peoples nightmares lol and you choose the parts you really want

i just like how some of my friends weather it be a nissan toyota or a miata have a reliable daily that they beat on for 3 hours every thursday drifting at the track and they get to drive off like nothing, then it can handle me going to and from school and ocational canyon cruises and stuff, enginewise im gonna keep the car stock im not down for a ref tic or anything i just want something clean that isnt 22 years old

honestly though how can you say you hate Honda....they build some of the most reliable and quality engines out there. I mean ya i am not really too fond of the cars either...but give credit where credit is due. People build and race honda's for a reason

I've had two friends with miatas that developed serious problems.

I drove my fc relatively hard from time to time and had no issues outside of wear parts.

It all depends on previous owner & maintenance!
