Rev - Sick trunk, is it vinyl wrapped or dry/matte carbon finish? I'm not sure which trunk it is either, care to share?

Tiltmode- it is , I own a SEIBON hood and trunk, = crap, the trunk is crap, crooked weaves, and when you look at an angle or rub ur hand across, the top is wavy! The hood is aight... But still, their clear coat sucks, no wonder they only guarantee it for 6 mo. Another thing, they use crap fiberglass for backing and the skeleton! If you lean on the trunk it pops in and out like a Snapple Top! The only pro is that it is super lightweight because its so crappy thin! Even the skeleton on the trunk is unnattaching a little. Im sure vibration from DD made the cf and fiberglass start to separate. The hood is pretty well made, no wonder it weighs almost thw same as stock. BUT you can't say the same for the Gaps it has that serve as cooling ducts, or possibly cause youre hood to fly open if you don't have hood pins.....

In case you ask why I bought them if I dislike them so much (the parts, not SEIBON personally)? So I can use the bottom side of their hood for a mold. Trunk, maybe not. Might have to use my stock.
Edit: funny thing is that they state all that on their website. Oh well.

but i do agree with the trunk though. my cousin had a seibon trunk. over time it would no longer make contact with the trunk latch. then one day we went on a 3 day snow boarding trip and the trunk just would not close or lock. seems like the alignment went off or the cold weather fucked something up.
but i have to say, revs work looks awesome. should have laid some real carbon over it though. i have seen some youtube videos of it, doesnt seem that much more difficult than regular paint work.

The clearcoat may wear over time, and fitment really is hit or miss, but beyond that I wouldn't necessarily say it is a horrible product. They are mass produced Fiberglass/FRP parts, you can only expect so much; prices would rocket if they were purely carbon fiber. Strength and fitment are both compromises, no doubt.
Just my $.02, I too have owned/friends who own(ed).

^ tiltmode: yeah that's where the problem lays, that they mass produced ........the first hoods out of the mold: awesome, later hoods out of mold: not so much. I doubt they ever made new molds. You can only use a mold (recommended) so many times. I'm no carbon expert but I have read up on CF, and have read about SEIBON/VIS being the lower grade CF choice in the industry across different car forums. I'm not the only one. Ill post detail pictures when all is said in done within this month for comparison.
Twizt: they may and may not be, but they do recommend hood pins with their hoods. Usually the no GAP hoods were fitted by a body shop.
Anyways, how have yall been? Whos going to the WHiV 4 ¿

i think it was tubingchamp that had a ms rear diffuser carbon vinyl wrapped, then gel coated, and the pics looked as good as any of the seibon/etc hoods i have seen

Rev: that looks pretty damn good, can't wait to see it in person.
as for the Seibon parts: They're not bad, Tim (newcastle) has their hood and trunk and while they're not perfect, for the price they do the job. One thing I would HIGHLY recommend and what he is doing very soon is taking it to a body shop and having a better clear coat put on as the gel coat they use won't stand up very long in the SoCal sun.
