I like the new sig zumn, it's sleek The yellow support beams certainly add a contrast to the darker cars, especially the WBs

overall, I support this new image of the zumn

the sheer explosiveness required for it is something that's tough to describe until you've run competitively.

I remember in High School our coach was obsessed with cardio so we'd be out on the track every day of the pre-season.
We'd run 220 meter sprints and they had to be under 32 seconds.
Doesn't sound too tough, right?

Well... here's the catch.
The ENTIRE team runs it at the same time and everyone has to finish in under 32. If one person didn't, the team failed.
The goal was to run 12 in a ROW under 32 seconds.
I remember our 7'1 center not making it under 32 seconds on our 11th attempt. We had to start all over.
We ended having to run 14 more 220m sprints in order to hit the goal of 12 consecutive runs. I remember running in front of our center and reaching back, grabbing his jersey and pretty much dragging him across the finish line.

One of the most brutal things I've ever had to do. Guys were cramping up and falling, I was puking in between runs, one guy passed out. Didn't matter, we had to keep going.
For a track team, this isn't asking much but from a Basketball team?!
From sprinting, lifting, and block work, my thighs got so large that I couldn't fit them into my 32 waist 32 length jeans (I was 5'10" and weighed 180lbs). I had to wear shorts year round or wide leg break away pants.

As for the timed sprints, I know exactly how you feel. The only difference is, we had the "team timed sprints" in football. I had to do the same dragging deal as you did. The only difference is, imagine a 5'9" 160lb guy dragging a 250lb lineman. By far the hardest workout of my life, but I did it for my loyalty to the team and my dedication to my fellow teammates.

As for track, its more of an individual thing. We were fighting for one of the 3 spots (for the event we are competing for) to run in the next meet. Although we had a "par" time to hit when practicing, it really wasn't what we were racing. It was the other sprinters. Come Thursday, it was the top 3 who got to run in the meet on Saturday. Being that internal battle, I had to fight everyday in every sprint. IMO for track, that is the way to make your runners work the hardest. Cause no one wants to be left behind.
