SoCal Lounge II
I got denied by Mazda. When I called back today (they left a message) the first thing the lady said was that it loooks like I have been doing everything that has to due with maintainance on time and at the appropriate milage. Next she mentioned that I got denied because In my first two oil changes the place I took my car to had put Synthetic without me knowing. After those two first oil changes I never ever again put synthetic. I even have proof (its in the paperwork). I let her know that. Then she kind of gave me an attitude and then said that the Tech had also found a crack in the radiator fluid tank and that "supposedly" thats the main reason that I got denied and the "synthetic fact" was just a side note (YEAH RIGHT) I know its because of those two synthetic oil changes that they are being picky....?.... I have never ever been leaking radiator fluid. I have never been low on radiator fluid or have never overheated before the day that my engine blew. I take my car to Jiffy Lube and they do like a 15-point inspection on it everytime. Im sure they would notice it and try to pick up on it to make some money or something. This is bullshit but what can I do? Not a damn thing right? Im kind of sitting in the dark now and dont really know where or what to do...I mean I know my options now, but im still puzzled. Very Dissapointing. Kind of makes me just want to give up on the whole "ROTARY" Factor, Ridiculous.
In our manual it does not say to "use regular 5-20 right"? even if it was synthetic 5-20...5-20 is 5-20.....If Im not mistake only the newer model RX8's manual states to not use synthetic?> Um, Help?

Hey Mike Im on my myspace..... log on so we can use the messenger...
Also to everyone:
There has been 1 negative trader score added to me. Reason is because when I had sold my spare tire Kit I forgot the smalll brackets that sit inside the Suspension covers...My engine had blew and with work picking up a lot I never really had a chance to get anything out of my car or the brackets of it while it has been at the dealership. In the negative trader score it states that it toook 2 months.... no. Only 1 month.... and thats the same time frame that my car has been at the dealer (Dyno Day was the beginning of April). In the end I guess its a case of bad luck, bad timing, and being too buzy with work. The buyer is requesting a refund, I have sent him updates. He gave me a negative trader score. He says he is going to return the spare tire kit and want his money back. After he sends it (if he has sent it already) I will refund his money. If he responds to my last PM and still wants the brackets now that i am getting my car from the dealer Ill be more than glad to take them off and ship them to him. I take full fault in the negative trader score, just would think some people would have more sympathy or understanding. Its not like I never sent him the spare tire kit. I wasnt frauding or scamming him.
I am returning another members money because I was not able to get my stock aeros painted for him in TiGrey...so they are available now. (I was hoping to get my car back to do all of it together)
Right when I have been real busy with work (even if the economy is down) and been somewhat moving up at work...... BAD NEWS COMES.... sad sad sad to me.

Chase: no worries man, I was laying down cus my head has been pounding but since I'm out of bed now, might as well be useful.
Zumn: Damn man, sorry to hear about the situation with the car.
you wanna get a replacement from Mazda?
Step 1: Stop being down about this. I'm serious, if you want our help we can give it but you gotta want to help yourself more then we do. No sense getting down and Emo about this, it's time to take action
- What were the dates on those invoices that list synthetic? What grade oil was the synthetic? What brand oil was the synthetic?
Do you have your original Owner's Manual?
I know there were a few changes made after the 2004 version but seeing as how Mazda never issued any ammendments to the '04, you've got a chance here to stick it to them.
Mazda is HOPING you will roll over and accept this. MNAO is still replacing a ton of engines these days and I'm sure they're looking at just about any opportunity to deny another warranty claim (also to minnimize the number of engine replacements)
Were all the oil changes after those two done with conventional oil?
is that documented?
photo copy the pages in your manual that describe the proper engine oil necessary and POINT OUT that nowhere there does it say that synthetic is not allowed. (doesn't the '04 manual not even mention synthetic?)
Unless the radiator completely cracked and dumped all the coolant and you kept driving, that is likely not a cause of the engine failure. Again, you have proof of a regular maintenance schedule and no one ever mentioned so much as a slight leak in the coolant system.
I've had radiators with small leaks, they do not suddenly cause your engine to grenade.
how many miles on your car now?
