This elitest response with a lack of respect really did it for me; it's funny how once quote can change your perspective on someone. Ever since, I haven't really been able to get into him, though some of his music is rather good (credit is given where credit is due!)
That and some douchebag at work is super into him, the combination left a really bitter taste in my mouth.
“It puts me to ******* sleep, to be quite honest; I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to ******* tears and hopefully, with all due respect to the DJ type that will ******* go the way of the dinosaur, I'd like them to dis-a-*******-pear! It's so middle man, they’re like ******* lawyers! You need them, but they’re ******* *****. God bless them, they’re my number one customer right, so I’m not gonna go dis every ******* DJ. But to say you become this massive, "up on a podium" performer by playing other peoples productions, at the same speed as someone else's productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it...”

Just saying..some people think Deadmau5 = Trance and they are wrong. A lot of people like dance music and they think it's all Trance when it isn't

That's a lie

Well mau5 is a producer ad much as a "DJ" so I can fathom his comments. It is harder to make your own sounds etc than to just crossfade some tracks. Most guys are producing now anyway
i don't want to sound like I don't think his comments aren't douchey, they are, those guys paved the way for him!

Matt, yeah producing does seem much more a skill than DJing, who can argue against that? It was the blatant lack of respect for DJs that turned me off. As he alluded, most acts/producers start off DJing so clearly there's a strong connection between the two. It just seemed to say, "You guys have no talent, you're worthless. Keep buying my **** though, (without you I'd be nothing.)"
