yes, CRH is serious.
There are 40 BHR kits that have shipped worldwide and this is the FIRST time anyone has reported a bad coil

Bad luck I guess, but if you consider 2 coils out of 160 is less then a 1% fail rate, that's pretty damn good. As soon as we suspected that the coils were bad, the entire BHR team immediately jumped in to trouble shoot my car and independently test each coil.

**** happens man, good thing is that it's being taken care of and I'll have my new coil kit soon. What more can a guy ask for.

I am not going to post the BHR coil pulls for the reasons CRH just mentioned. We had 2 coils that were not properly firing so any #'s taken from those pulls is not an accurate depiction of the ignition system. I did mention the hp I pulled on just TWO coils though, look up 1 post.

I have nothing to hide here, I said it before: if the coils would have LOST me power, I would still mention it. I'm not here to just give good news, I'm here to call things as I see 'em. (as I've done for 5 years on this board) I have arranged with Steve @ SR MotorCars to get my car BACK on his dyno as soon as my replacement coils arrive. THEN I'll post up the graphs.
you guys just posted that while i was in the middle of posting how was i suppose to know? im no mind reader.

The cool thing is that Delphi gives me no trouble about warranty claims and that allows me to simply do the right thing without being asked or argued with. Same for the harnesses, plug wires, etc, in the rest of the kit. I find it far easier to just take care of BHR's customers for the long-term than to trudge through paperwork to establish some warranty "timeframe".

Yes, 2 coils, and we are shipping another 20 kits out pretty soon with 55 more right behind them. That's another 300 coils on the streets.

Let's see how long it is before we have another situation like this pop up.

The trick is for you to "spread out", as Moe would say, and lemme do my work.

BTW, I predicted 205-206 from my own car on the first pull. I got 204.93. How's that for butt-dyno accuracy?

Let me know when you're planning to go back to SR. I told Steve I'd be back in the near future. I need to correct my vac issues and get my missing 30hp.

2 coils from Delphi out of the 160+ coils we have placed in the field. Not perfect but damned close.

So again, I'll mention again that...I intended to purchase the coil kit from BHR to supplement Satan's snail that I was going to have installed at SevenStock...BUT in light of what happened...

1) I'm going to be fixing the intake problem's as soon as I get back and then redyno the car...

2) If it makes you all happy, I'll go ahead and purchase the BHR coil kit and pay the extra cash for another set of dyno runs so I can provide conclusive before and after results...

My entire life revolves around details, and pouring over and re-examining every nook and cranny...BHR did the homework, and I concur that the solution is "elegant", as well as solves one of the weakest links in the RX-8 platform, both in terms of longevity, as well as power delivery in N/A and FI applications...

As a "creator" of things if you will, I know that EVERYTHING has a failure rate...your yield must exceed a certain percentage of acceptable failure to be profitable...what happened follows a very simple rule...

When it can go wrong, it probably will...

Thus...I have no problem retesting for you guys just to make you happy...I'm pretty impartial, and simply like the BHR coil kit because I understand what they are made of, and what they are replacing...other solutions exist, but the kit meets and exceeds 90% if not greater of what the market needs...

Anywho...I get back home Sat, at which point I'll be working on hopefully collecting and shipping 100 pennies to Jeff...but if there is a demand for retesting, I'll be happy to comply just to make you guys happy...

Um...well I do use an "auto-suck" feature in everything I make...so tell you what...I'll go ahead and have it make squeaky sounds just for you...

But ultimately, I'd still recommend you stop sleeping with Charles, traveling mechanics are like sailors from days long past...

They get all dirty and rarely use protection where ever they go...

"Ignition Solution" is Mazsport's name and it may be trademarked.

"Ignition System" is BHR's name for the kit.

I used to be flattered when mentioned in the same breath as Mazsport but..........

Hopefully this means me

I am planning on dynoing my 8 as soon as I get my coils. I don't have a base to compare to but it should be interesting.
