Tester needed - RX8 Explorer 8.8 Kit

Hopefully some of you guys have heard of Ronin Speedworks. We're pretty solid in the Rx7 community particularly among the engine swap guys.

Once we have the actual product for sale, I'm sure we'll be setting up a proper vendor account here, but for now hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes in posting this.

Ronin is developing an RX8 product line! We've owned a test mule for a bit now and have completed prototyping on an 8.8 rear as our first product. Some rotary guys are making good power so we wanted to get the rear squared before we remove the rest of the driveline. The kit is similar to our current FD kit (FD Ford 8.8 IRS Mounting Kit) in that it's based on the burly dual front mount aluminum housing from the 2006-2010 Ford Explorer. This housing using the same internals as the 2002-2004 "Terminator" Mustang Cobras, but the housing itself is much stronger.

Pic of diff from our FD kit.

Prototypes are complete including halftshafts and we're looking for a tester. Basic criteria: You need to be making a good deal of HP (call it >450 whp). Your car has to be currently running and available for install and immediate testing. If you're in SoCal that's a big advantage as we'd prefer to help with the install.

Like the FD kit we're ditching the power plant frame and welding in the front mount support to the Mazda subframe (we're tying across an entire span on the stock subframe). Rear mounts will be bolt in. We will have an alternate trans mount available as well to be sure we can support rotary and v8 folks.

Final retail pricing is TBD, but it should be on the order of our other 8.8 kits. We're not giving away the tester kit, but we'll cut you a break. Please send info on you and your car to roninspeedworks@gmail.com if interested.

Thanks,
Joel (for RSW)

Final pricing will be determined once we have all our production setup. We're expecting to be able to keep this pretty close to our other kits. Best guess it'll run $1200-$1400 when it hits the street.

I think we're the only folks offering an unconditional warranty on our halfshafts too. Break one and we replace it, no questions asked, break another and we'll give you a refund and need to know more about your setup because damn... that makes you a baller.

We do have several testers lined up at this point, but we had enough interest that we decided to do two rounds of testing (Alpha, the prototype shown) and Beta (round 2 open to a few more folks).

Not to late to get in, if you're still interested. Shoot us an email to roninspeedworks@gmail.com.
