Totaled

Wow. I love how some ignorant *** can get a rear drive car (with a basically flat torque curve) and think "HEY LETS RUN THE CANYONS MAN WOOHOO TOKYO DRIFT WAS AN AMAZING, EMMY AWARD WINNING PICTURE".
You deserve to have your car totaled after what you did to it. You shouldn't be allowed to drive considering you were trying to race two other idiots, it's a shame they didn't follow you down.
Street racing is absolutely retarded and you deserve ever bit of financial and emotional / physical pain that you suffered.

Okay, so let me get this straight.....You gave in to pressure, either from yourself or from your friends, and went "drifting" and TOTALED your car.........and NOW, you're thinking of buying a FD or FC?!?!?!?!
Someone please insert the Darwin LOL Picture now!

How can you possibly condone street racing? I'm not talking streetlight drags or spirited drives through the twisties.. but drifting through a ******* canyon? Not only is that dangerous for the driver but also for all the other responsible people out there.
Get off your high horse. This kid was being an idiot and got what he deserved. It's a shame that he's ruined a Shinka Edtion, but hey.. That's karma (The correct usage of the term, by the way).

Ok check it out guys, i absolutly realize what happend was outrageous.
BUT. pls get it straight
true i got my 8 at the end of summer of 07.
but my parents may have CO signed for the car , BUT i have been the one making payments on it .
and its true i do find canyon runs fun as hell , but ive always realized that DIEING, was a huge factor but i guess its true when ur my age its "FUN" to do **** like that . ive had a 1996 eclipse b4 this car and i liked canyons run then wayy before tokyo drift bs.
but me and my friends have been doing this but this is the first time we went on this canyon and i guess after being on a alot of other runs in previous years i forgot how dangerous it was and kept pushing without knowing.
but once i get my new 8 in a few months ill be taking it to the track . not the canyon.
i completely realized i could have KILLED other people and am fortunate . Though if i am being FLAMED i guess its fine , cause i DO realize i do fit the "young with a fast car" stereotype .
but to anyone who talks to about thinking of this car as a "toy" , u can go to hell , i worked hard as hell for my car and my insurance . to u its what it may look like im just some dumb *** id with prevliges but i did and still do LOVE my car . so much that im gonna try to do what i can to get it back on the road instead of just getting another ride .
and i do know how lucky i am to be able to walk away from all this . and after the accident i do realize how this is basically a "2nd" chance at life .
but none of the airbags deployed but i did feel very safe after realizing i just flipped i felt very safe in the 8 ,
and the Cops got me for unsafe turning. 1 mark on liscense . taking it off with traffic school.
P.S i will put
iCrash on my sig Now JUST 4 YOU.

Sorry, I respect the machinery that I paid cold hard cash for. Unlike some folks who total the car that their parents buy for them. That's the only way someone could have such a blatant disregard for such an expensive "toy" to them.

Personally, I think flipping a new car 4 times, totaling it, and walking away to live the tale is punishment enough. I fail to see any reason to call him "an idiot who got exactly what he deserved".
What do your attacks accomplish? Do you think he doesn't already know that what he did was foolish? Do you think he doesn't feel bad? Don't you think his parents have already read him the riot act?
No, I doubt you thought about any of those things. You just got a hard-on the moment you saw someone else's misfortune, and couldn't resist the urge to get your jollies from shitting on his thread.

A) You took your parents car on an extremely immature thrill ride that was immensely dangerous to not only your own well being, but your parents financial well being. Not to mention that since you're only 18 that your insurance has now, without a doubt, become SR-22 type "risk" insurance. That **** ain't cheap.
B) From the face value of what you've said, you did not get punished whatsoever for this absolutely retarded stunt. In fact, your parents are apparently going to buy you another car! How is this even possible!
C) You seem to show some remorse, but is that remorse stemming from the fact that you lost your toy or that you're honest to god sorry that you've done this and you've learned your lesson. I think it's the former.

The fact of the matter is, you're very young, you don't really have a keen sense of responsibility, your first car is apparently a DSM eclipse that you, while i'm only guessing here, wrecked or otherwise disrespected into tatters.
You have no respect for the power of a big machine like a sports car. Frankly I don't think you deserve it. This is coming from someone who's owned several beaters before first buying his car completely on his own. The fact that you haven't owned a beater doesn't give you any perspective on WHY people can appreciate cars later in life than when they are young, because you just don't.
Call it a flame, do whatever. All i'm saying is that you are one of the luckiest bastards on the streets. Don't take this second chance for granted and keep acting like a fuckle on the canyons. There's other people out there too.
(For what it's worth, a good friend of mine died by one of you little shitstain "racers" on the way up to Bartlett lake in Arizona. Clipped him trying to pass him in their integra and he lost control, ended up breaking half the bones in his body after he was flung from his GSXR. He didn't last more than 15 minutes. The guy who hit him was never found)

its true , during the moment my parents didnt come to mind , because honestly when ur doing canyon runs .....who thinks of anything else but whats happening on the canyon. my eclipse was sold. but it was a bucket i bought for 1500 and spent money on from my first job at the mall when i was 16 . and yeah hey , i have no reason to really defend myself cause in the end we all know how i really look like . and your entitled to your opinion .and i understand why ur opinion is what it is.
and there wasnt much time to go "ahhhhhhh" .just "wow"
and if it makes you feel any better ill be driving a bone stock 95 honda accord for a couple months.
sorry to hear about ur friend.

You my good man get the "Post of the Day" award! Couldn't have put this better myself...
You, my friend, are a god damned idiot. It was your parents car and you couldn't treat it with the respect that it deserved. The Co-Signer is still the legal owner of the car, not you. It's not a "joint" ownership.
Excellent! Complete gibberish. I understand that you're in a state of shock over totaling a car you didn't deserve. But seriously.. What? Why didn't your parents buy you a civic like every other wanna-be street racer stereotype? Why did you have to go and total out a fairly rare car because "canyon runs r fun az hell but u kno i culd die and w/e i had an eclipze b4 dis man i rolled that sumbitch too fukken dsm crankwalk lolz"
Maybe it's just because i've seen the behavior and the stereotype before, but the whole "i guess i forgot how dangerous it was.. gosh that SHEER CLIFF FACE sure is coming up pretty quiIIAIAAAHHHHHH *Crash*" just comes off as "I really don't care.. my parents will just buy me another one. Who cares if i crash that one too!"
Good.. But you're still going to end up totaling that one or someone else's car. Autocross first, track days second. Never the other way 'round. You are a greenhorn, kid. You need some serious seat time. Trust me when I say that when you plow into someones $85,000 Porsche at the track, you're going to be sued into next century.
At least you admit it. You're being flamed for very good reasons.

Yeah yeah. I realize i'm being harsh, but i'd rather have you learn your lesson NOW instead of when you wreck at the track, or back on the canyons in your bitch'n new 08 RX-8 RS.

postmaster? i dont work for the post office, nor do i claim to be a 'post master'. atleast you stepped up to the plate and took the blame..
it doesnt take a genius to figure out a newb with RWD and the ability to turn off traction control will eventually bite off more than he/she can chew

so many things i want to say but after reading 2 pages of post, im too lazy to quote their lines.
but to thock, you mention why don't his parent buy him a civic. if he was driving a civic and total it what would you say? why civic is ok to total and rx8 is not? they both cars.
there are tons of people total their cars, yes many of them were young and doing speed they shouldn't be doing. atleast he know what he did, and im very sure he will learn his mistake from this accident.
and as for you friend who died in the accident. im sorry to hear that, but once you sit on your bike you should have known what could happen to you today.
i got my driver license right at 16 and got my M1 license at 17. i know what im doing, and every time i start the bike, i told my self that i might not come back today. so i pay extra attention to my action.
to shinkateen as long as you learn your mistake, im sure you will change the way you think next time when you doing things like that
