Exclamation !!!!!Track Day at Buttonwillow Aug. 9-10 with Speedventures featuring Gumball 3000

Hello All,

As far as I know, Speedventures is offering a group discount for Buttonwillow August 9-10: http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=177

Speedventures is my favorite track day group...they ar every professional and make sure the events always runs smoothly.

There's already a thread on the S2Ki forum for this: http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=616550

We should start up a group of our own and get the same pricing through Speedventures.

The Gumball 3000 will also be stopping by Buttonwillow on the 9th, so that's something we shouldn't miss!

Let's start a list of our own...the minimum is 5

1. kinchu007 -- Saturday 9th
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Edit: I changed to Saturday a week ago and forgot to mention it.

if you had a Mazmart water pump and a BHR radiator (like some cool Jedi I know) then you'd be fine.

That's what you think.

Ask Sammy and the gang.

They run real hot on the track.

Sammy is on either Koyo or stock, not sure which one he's using currently. Sammy needs to chime in!

why does Sammy need to chime in? This is not a cooling thread, it's about a Track day this weekend that Kinchu is taking sign-ups for.

Lets get back on track... (haha, get it??? )

I'm going Saturday. Will be stuck in the white group because of late sign up. I'll be running the heater and sweating like I'm in hell as I did there a couple months ago. Hoping to keep the temps under 220. This is when the RB gauge cluster really comes in handy. I'll also try to keep the revs at around 7.5-8k this time.

I called Speedventures about it and they said they'd look into it for all their future events. They have to go through some qualification process of some sort in order to enter the program.

It's a great idea...something people have been asking for for years really...and now it's finally here!

Cool-what group are you in? The entry list showed only one other 8 on Saturday. That's probably you...I was hoping there would be more of us at this event.

There are a few other insurance options but the rates are rediculous.

BTW-For those pretty familiar with Buttonwillow, what's a good lap time (for our 8)on street rubber and minimal suspension mods?

I'm in the Blue Group...I guess when they switched me to Saturday they didn't select my RX8 as the car I'm running...load it up now and you should see me on there as "kinchu".

My name is Filip...See you at the track Senna!

I was able to get 2:22.0 on 13 CCW and that was my first time at Buttonwillow.

Since we're running 13 CW this time (which is supposed to be faster), I'm aiming for 2:15. That was my friend's best time in his Lotus Exige on 13 CW. I was able to beat him on 13 CCW, so I should be able to pull it off.

Anything under 2 minutes is a fully built time attack car.
