Traffic gauge
I just heard about this new gadget on the radio today, and checked out the web site (www.trafficgauge.com), and was amazed at how cheap both the gadget and the service are.
Basically, it seems to be a palm-pilot sized wireless reciever to which they somehow (probably through a cell phone network?) beam real-time freeway traffic updates to. Not sure who supplies the Seattle data, but the L.A. data comes from Caltrans, resumably the same info as what's on the website traffic maps.
Has anyone out there tried this yet (only avaialble in L.A. and Seattle so far)? Wondering if it's as good as advertized, although at $80 for the gadget and $7/month for service I'd almost be willing to live with some bugs.
