Turbocharging my car ...

Got updated Photos!!
So, Naoto from Blast was happy to take photos of taking out the motor. I have a few fairly large photos I need to be reduced but I don't have the s/w to do it. Can someone reduce them for me and post them? Sorry, I don't know how to do that.

And btw if you got someone to pay off, mind sending that name my way? :D

thanks Mike ... I guess blast is completely waiting on the f*ckin' Greddy Kit to arrive. I am going to ask what their order of install is tomorrow. I figure they can start the port/polish for now. Fuel return system parts is still being delivered.
I'm going to see if they can move the batter to another location, if possible.

NP. I was going to turbo the car probably the beginning of next year, but I've had a few conversations with some rotory experts, and shop owners, and I'm not so sure its a good idea at this time. Mayber later on the line, or if a good s/c comes out, but for now I'll settle with riding in this beast when its done.

Believe me, these guys at Blast will make a reliable car; maybe not a smog legal one but it will be done right.

I'm sure the way they are building up your car, it will be fine. They seem to be doing a lot of prep work to make it reliable and stand the test of time. But as far as putting it on a stock engine, it probably won't stand the test of time.

i wonder how nervous they are when pulling that engine apart... no matter how experienced you are, im sure they are nervous as hell!
and question... whyd they go with the FD rotors? i mean they could go with the lightened rx8 rotors by racingbeat and such... i guess
your car will be awesome, but doesnt kinda suck just giving your money to someone to fix it up for u? dont you sometimes want to work on it on your own and experience it first hand?
sry sry not criticizing but putting in my opinion... but you will honestly have one of the fastest rx8s in this world... (one of the fastest because there was that 800hp one right? and they have that nhra one, and im sure MNAO has some secret rx8 hidden)

Someone already answered the fd rotor question. I guess they have lower compression, so you can give it more boost. The are strengthening everything, so it can handle that additional boost. This will probably be the first or second fastest true RX8. The 800hp didn't use a Renesis, and that guy in Puerto Rico is supposed to be pushing close to 400whp. Either way, this is one of those innovative RX8 in the world probably, so you gotta give him much props.

Wow how fun to see the inside of the engine!!! Would've loved to see it in person (and I would've felt a lot better knowing it's your engine and not mine). I would be nervous having the engine torn apart like that when it's so new!!! Can't wait for the report on your car when it's all done.

some questions answered ...
As far as the dirty rotor, Blast said that's pretty normal - from their FD/FC days, its pretty consistent from what they've experienced.
As far as apex seals, they are "non-OEM". This is something that I will defer to Blast to relinquish more information on. But, I was assured the seals, for the whp range I'm looking at 350450whp, it'll be very reliable. They said they could easily make it higher .. but they'd ask for $20,000 more dollars :p
