Here's what I have in store for the coverage of this event.

Black Halo Racing will be providing a live webcam feed for this event as we have in the past. We will be running two cameras at the very least for everyone to see.

You'll be able to join the broadcast by going to http://blackhaloracing.com/live/

We have had requests made in the past for dyno numbers. I've spent a considerable about of time trying to devise a solution to this issue whether it be a live feed from the dyno computer, a camera pointed at the screen etc. The solution we're going to utilize this year is via our twitter feed.

I'll be providing dyno results via our twitter feed live so people watching the webcam can get quick results. The advantage of using the feed also is the posts won't get lost if we have any technical issues with the webcam. In the past we have disruptions in the feed and the chat log gets erased.

Now, if going to twitter.com makes you twitch you'll also notice our feed is displayed on our website at blackhaloracing.com when you access any of the blogs or the store menu. It doesn't update in real time but the results will show there as well.

In all, those who can't make the event should be able to keep up with all the action!

The camera on the dyno screen idea really rocks if you can do it ....

 

The problem is the dyno screen is almost always going to have someone blocking the camera view. I'd also have to equip a DV camera with a zoom lens since there is no good place nearby to place it.

Half the stuff on the screen doesn't mean much anyway to onlookers and the Dynojet plots are not the easiest to read even with a camera on it. At this point the easiest action will be manual entry but doing it via the chat client is a pain and it can easily get lost if the web connection resets.

 

don't worry Brettus, Todd and I are making sure you guys are all taken care of come dyno weekend.
I'm buying extra cat5 cables so we can hardwire laptops and get you guys a good feed along with dyno #'s.

I know Flashwing and I talked extensively about how to get real time dyno numbers but as he mentioned, it would be extremely difficult to have a camera pointed at the screen or to run the software off the dyno computer.
don't worry though, between the ipad, twitter, the webcam chat, and everything else going on we're hoping you guys end up with a good show.

 

I'm going to be doing a bit of a test run this coming weekend with the Arizona Mazda Club's dyno day. We'll be dyno'ing over 20 cars with some possible guest appearances from cars you only get to see on TV.
