you would not beleive what happened to me this morning on the 405s this older ladie in her green 8 wasnt paying any attention so i sped up in front of her on her left hand side, she took a double look and checked out my car, you can tell in her face that she was thinking oh **** an rx8!! then she looked over at me and smiled and gave me the thumbs up!!ahahhahahahha i swear she was like 50yrs old

yeah.. a lot of people in the 909 area are mean. a lot of fobs from mt sac and cal poly are mean... but i think i'm one of them now because i'm so used to them not giving me a thumbs up or a wave.. therefore i don't really acknowledge them either
but when i first got my 8.. everyone waved, even the older people. maybe since the 8 is not so rare as it used to be, people just don't care anymore?
leon, for the record, i waved back at you that one time on Grand. hahaha

The RX-8 is definitely a niche vehicle, but there are a lot of people who drive it and are not "into" the car as we are here on the board.
I see tons of 8s daily, most of them without a single mod.
Seeing someone wave back or even nod is more often the exception than the norm.
I was just thinking yesterday that people on this board can have an inside hand gesture when we pass each other.. Something like the letter "R" in sign language.

damn it to many asians drivin 8s not enough mexicans...but then again most mexicans probably cant afford one, theyd rather get a lime green 89' accord with a park bench in the back and some cheap sounding exhaust that the get from thier uncle in downtown santa ana, and put all types of drifting and racing stickers all over it

^ you know I'm not racist, but I gotta say, mexicans do that too much, when you see them, just let them go, they rev engine at me, I look over, and just give them the wave to "go ahead" not even worth my gas to race them.......sadly
but don't worry, asians do that too, mostly fobs who can't tune cars worth a ****, except they also come with a gigantic ego and more money= more disastrous wreck and crazy car accident
