Universal "HI" sign for the RX8club members
I didn't do a search and wouldn't know what to search for, but...
I don't drive pass too many 8's, and when I do my wife will ask me why don't I give a thumbs up or something. I said no biggie, because I had a bad experience when I first purchased mine and ended up with this guy tailing me and trying some type of challenge.
Maybe there should be a universal "HI" sign from the people in the club. Not all of us want to have stickers all over our car, ( I have my share).
What do you guys, and gals think.
Bill

well i greet other 8's and rotarys in general by first waving...and if that doesn't work i figure maybe they are't aware of rotarys and just got the car for looks...so i then throw a rotar at them (i have a sack full of them to defend myself from car jackers ) to educate them on the wonderful machine they are driving :D
seriously though i've waved to a bunch of peopel and they either look away..or give me teh crazy look

When I see fellow Mazda 8 & Miata owners I try to give them thumbs up.
Whether or not they are my age (17) or older. I love to see other people enjoy the same things I do.
However I do often get Nice Comments on my 8 from people who own other Sports Cars such as 350Z's, G35's, and sometimes Evo's & WRX's.
So my thought for a "Universal Mazda Hi!" is the thumbs up.

while waiting to pull in to the gas pump, I saw a guy with his 2nd gen RX7 and wearing a Mazdatrix t-shirt. I waved and gave him thumbs up and did the following:
I started to draw circles in the air with my index finger to represent the rotary motion of the rotors. He started to grin and gave me a thumbs up. After finishing pumping, he waved "the see you around".
That was cool, normally other people give me the weird looks...

I usually give a Thumbs-Up do the Pez (head nod). Most of the time I get a positive response back.
One time I pulled up next to a guy at a stop sign. We both had our windows down. I looked at him and said "nice car."
He looked at me like I was nuts and then pulled away.
Go figure.

I usually wave my hand out the window, flash lights, and honk.
If you want to get really extreme, you can bumber tap the person you are trying to get the attention of.
you're not too far from San Bernardino... if you're lonely the 2nd saturday of every month (if you want to see more rx8's)... you may want to consider:
https://www.rx8club.com/west-rx-8-forum-34/once-month-meeting-near-san-bernardino-45646/
we meet in the mornings and head up to the local hills for a nice drive.
