Dang Ross! 1:30! That sucks man. Im sorry. I almost didnt make it. My 8 died about 30 miles into Utah. I think it just over heated cause i just let it sit with the hood open for about 5 min, then it started up. I pulled off at the next station and sprayed the whole engine bay down. Didnt have any problems after that. I need to do something about the cooling system.. :S
I'll get around to getting over on the Utah thread and forum but for now, I wish to tank you for coming and I hope you had a good time.

yeah Phil, HUGE props to the guys who came down from Utah!
Also, Ross Dawg was a hell of a trooper, having driven 5 hours just to meet up with the Cali guys on Friday morning. (then another 2.5 hours to get to Vegas)
Ross: how many miles did you drive this weekend?

oops... i didnt know. fail.... :S thanks for the advice guys. It had already cooled down for about 30 min in the shade before i sprayed it down. there wasnt any steam blown out or anything. Is that ok? I just wonder cause I was talking with Flashwing about cleaning everything under the hood and he said that he usually just hoses it down and uses some simple green. Maybe I heard wrong.. Or is it just that it was a hot engine that made it bad?

RoXas: it was a pleaseure to meet you and chat a bit about mods / car stuff.
Anytime you need anything just let me know, I'm here to help.
As for the engine cleaning, you did hear right but you missed a minor detail. The trick is to push the car out of the garage, spray it down with simple green, then hose the car off, never having turned it on because pouring water on hot parts can crack things.
Once you've rinsed off the Simple Green, THEN fire up the car and drive it around for 10 minutes as that'll evaporate most of the remaining water

Flashwing was referring to washing (I would say) a cold engine.

oh ****.. cracked parts. OK good to know. Never gonna do that again. Glad I let it sit for a while before doing that. Thanks for the heads up.
Oh yeah.. Sorry I missed out on the Hofbrauhaus dinner. Kinda bummed i missed it. The typical Vegas touristy stuff wasnt anything special. And the heat was so overbearing. Not gonna do that next year.

04: don't do it in September, because SEVENSTOCK is towards the end of that month and I get the feeling people will be saving up for that event.
You and your dad should consider coming down for that.
