In otherwords, we're shooting to get as many RX-8 owners as possible to this event but if members have moved on from their RX-8's and now own another Mazda then they are still welcome.
I would imagine a very large majority of the people going will be RX-8 owners (such was the case last year)

Man I'd really like to come to this the Hofbrauhaus is calling to my german ancestry and I could use a vacation already. We'll see if my 8 is up to snuff by then.

F'in hoffbrauhaus!

Next year it'd be better if we all had input on where everyone was going on the night. So many locals won't turn up to there because its crap.

if you guys want to go somewhere really nice, check out XS at Encore. it's stunning, good crowd, but weak drinks, so pre-party beforehand.

Is there somewhere you can suggest so I can go Friday night?
We had a blast last year because of the atmosphere, and our friends.
If you guys are saying there are other restaurants that us out-of-towners don't know about, I'd like to check them out.
I'm in Vegas quite a bit, and I've found some places I really like depending on the mood, but when I want to just drink and get loud, I go to Houfbrauhaus.
Just looking for some tips on similar places, not just for food either, but a place that's a fun atmosphere.

Everyone had the better part of a year to make suggestions. I did not get any. The Hof Brau was a place that the visitors enjoyed and had a hell of a party. Non of the locals came last year and none came to the drive but did attend on Friday evening. No one is forcing anyone to go anywhere. If you don't want to join in with the group then don't come. That is why there are three different parts to the get together, something for everyone (I hope). It is difficult to please everyone.

Lesper4: There have been several ex owners (and wannabes) that have had to part with their 8s and have purchased other Mazda cars. They expressed their desire to attend. It is primarily a RX8 meet and as last year open to ex and wanna be Mazda owners (I don't think anyone noticed that we had two non 8s last year).

This town is full of restaurants, gourmet, junk food and trendy. One of the fun things about Vegas is searching out those restaurants that appeal to you. Nothing I pick would be to everyones liking. You need look for yourself.

Friday night, after the parking lot meet, is open and if there is somewhere that anyone would like to meet up, then call it now and I will add it to the list. Plenty of time.

LOL. I feel the same way about it but, tourists seem to love it because it's full of sweaty fat girls drinking brew and Helga and her paddle. It's fun for certain tourists. Dude...they can't all be skinny english pimps like us.

AJ is saying he is a skinny english guy????? Hold the press....there is an impostor here somewhere .

AJ, Dominion, A. Mair where is a good spot to meet before the Friday meet or after the Friday meet. Now it has to be some place that will put up with all of us and let us make noise and acceptable to wives and girl friends.

^^^okay you caught me, lol. But I'm still a P-I-M-P!

I would say the M since it's brand new and awesome! The Palms is nice or the Hard Rock even.

If you are talking a place to eat, Dick's Last Resort at Excaliber is fun and loud and women give up their bras and pantys there and hang em up on the bar. Seen many a female tourist get molested and exposed there. Not a classy joint that's for sure.

Another idea, we can meet at town square's huge parking lot and go into Yard House after for brewski then move up to the Blue Martini. Then off to the after hours, let's say Seamless or Spearmint. That's how I roll.

Disclaimer: This is not for everyone kids, grandmas, and prudes need not apply. Ask A. Mairs

I would prefer staying out of the big Casinos due to parking and time it takes to get around in one of them. Is the Yard House unique? or are they all over Cali? Can we yell and raise discontent in there without being tossed? I'm not sure that wifes or girl friends would appreciate Dicks. Those are places that you can go after the get together.........

We want to offer unique venues not what they can see regularly in Cali, Phoenix or SLC. Come on guys do your best......

I got thrown out of a Yardhouse here in SoCal many years back. Turns out 23 drinks is about where Jedi reaches his limit.

Dick's sounds like a fun place.
My wife won't mind since there is a pretty good poker room in Excaliber, that's probably where she will end up soon after we arrive.

I totally understand that the Hofbrauhaus is a "tourist" place and the locals don't care for it,
it's like when I have family visit from South America and they want to go to Hollywood to see the stars on the Walk of Fame.
Not my favorite thing to do.
However, please don't tell me Hofbrauhaus sucks and in the same sentence suggest Yard House.
That's just an Applebee's w/ more beer choices.
At least at Hofbrauhaus (I'm getting tired of typing that name) they have mildly entertaining German's doing stuff.
And, Jedi might win a stein this year if we can keep the cheaters out of the contest.

Light weight, we should have hung out together when I was a little younger and did not have a doctor that feels anything more than one shot of tequila or one glass of wine is all I am aloud to have per day. For what I pay him I had better listen

What time would you guys be leaving SoCal? Well actually what time would you get to Barstow? It'll take me 3-1/2 - 4 hours to get to Barstow...

Also Phil, go ahead and add me to the list

we're hitting the road early to avoid traffic and cops. We're hoping to get to Vegas around lunch time then check into our hotels afterwards.

Ross Dawg: not sure exactly what time we'll get to barstow but I'll throw up a Caravan Thread once we get closer to June and I figure out the logistics

OK then maybe Dick's is OK - those of you from Cali that are bringing wifes and girl friends chime in here. Will you have a problem going?? I'll have AJ see about getting us a set aside spot for a meet if everyone is game.

Jedi - see what your members say. If they don't have a problem then we will make it a place that will be Dicks or a place like it. Some how I can't see it bothering your girl but WTF do I know.
