Just to your wallet. A total waste unless you are pinging already for some strange reason.

I use nothing but 91 or higher.....maybe about 2-3 gallons of 100 or 95 to mix it up. Depends on the mood.

91 octane from Chevron. I'm getting about 225 a tank. Haven't run anything less, but the first tank the dealer put in was probably cheap gas, cause I only got about 200 on that tank.

you wont get worse gas mileage with lower octane unless you get detonation an dthe car pulls timing. try lower octane. i run 87 always and get ~275 to the tank.

Careful with the hi-test, if it's leaded it will de-activate the catalyst, but also kill the wideband O2 sensor, and put yer '8 in limp-mode.

The unleaded stuff is fine.

Also check the nozzel before you use it. a lot of that stuff sits in the tank for a LOOOOONG time and varnishes.

Varnish has little or no color, is transparent, and has no added pigment, as opposed to paints or wood stains, which contain pigment and generally range from opaque to translucent. So how do you know there is varnishe on the nozzel? or what am I looking for?

I only use 91 because...

- 91 is the only thing that's available here in SoCal
- 91 is all I can afford
- 91 is considered premium in CA.

The high test stuff is not replenished nearly as often as the other grades. There are very few people buying 100+ octane.

Wink High-Altitude

89. BIG difference in exhaust and response from 91 93 or Rebel 100. I tried Aviation fuel (114) and made the exhaust STINK but ran good. 4,460+/- feet here in Nevada, so maybe Premium is a waste? Go figure. Premium makes my car feel lazy. Everyone else at low altitude?
