Unhappy Wheel Repair Shops? HELP!

So yeah...I nailed a pothole on the way to work today and now i not only have a bent lip on my rims but now a damaged tire...

does anybody have any recommendations for a wheel restoration shop local in orange county?

I found Wheel Repair Specialists in Santa Ana but i found some of their testimonies a lil' biased...but if i can't get any other recommendations...i'll have no choice...

yeah bro, I think you're better off getting a new rim. I once tryed to repair a 14" rim, but it was costing me $90 bucks.

Atilla, have you try filing a complaint with CalTran and see if they will cover for the repair or a new wheel and tire?

A buddy of mine did that in his Dodge Magnum R/T, Cal Trans reimbursed him.

ok so here's the scoop

Wheel Repair Specialists = Guy's that sound like Jerk's - but are at least pretty honest...

When i called them the guy i talked to seemed pretty cool at first - but then i called again for directions and whoever picked up the phone wasn't very customer friendly - and when i got there, the guy who came out to "evaluate" the damage seemed a bit arrogant. After saying he would have to remove the lip, smooth the dent, polish it and attach it to the rim back together (which i would imagine would be difficult seeing as to how it's 1 PIECE) he said it still wouldn't look like the other rims...he also told me that it would cost ~$230 - i said a single rim costs only $150 - he said i should go and buy the rim then...So i left...

I called up CalTrans and got a huge head-ache - i finally got to someone that told me they would have to once again "evaluate" some crap and that it would take "a while" before they could get back to me. I felt like the rep i talked to was a little bit of an....***...

I finally called the guy who hooked me up with my wheels and he was really cool about what happened and he quoted me at $100 for a new one...and my tire guy (TIRE METRO on Garden Grove Blvd ) said he'll do the mounting, balancing and patching for $20 soooo if i don't find a better offer soon...i'm gonna have to go this route...

for the tire, most likely you need a new one, and for the wheel, you can bring or ship it to wheel techniques
