Hi. I've only taken my car to the dealer for oil changes and minor services, but I am looking for a legit shop that can work on my 8. I am going to be needing the 30K service in less 1K miles.

Can anyone recommend me a shop? I will be needing the new brakes, too.

check out NeptuneSpeed in Huntington Beach. The owner is popular with the RX-7 crowd and it's the only shop I'll let touch my 8.

 

you want a rotary shop that's not a mazda dealer right? the best rotary shops (imho) in LA are sidepex in temple city and mazdatrix in signal hills. when i had my fd, these two ended up being my favorites. both know their stuff very well and are reasonably priced...at least when it came to any rotary car before rx-8. i dunno if they work on the 8 and/or how knowledgeable they are w/ 'em. i suspect at least mazdatrix knows quite a bit about the 8 since they have one themselves; sidepex is a lot more old skool so i wouldn't be surprised if they don't really want to work on 8's
