Who are we?

Ok, time for us Westerners to get on the bandwagon that some other regional forums are doing. I've changed the structure slightly, exercising privileges as originator of this thread. Tell us about yourself!
-----------------------------------------

8_wannabe: John

Why you chose your forum username: I never dreamed I would really buy the car; always thought I'd be a wannabe (my wife is totally not into the 8. I figured I could always find another wife but there's only one 8!) I got over the psychological hurdle, bought the car, and am stuck with the wannabe moniker. She still doesn't like it.

AGE: 45

LIVING SITUATION: Married, with 15-yr-old son

LOCATION: La Jolla CA (San Diego)

JOB: Retired Navy officer. Now a program manager for defense contractor writing Command and Control software for Navy.

HOBBIES: Gardening, reading, music (classic rock), frisbee golf, enjoy outdoor activities, scuba.

Anything else about you: After years of "sensible" cars that '8 allows my repressed, true self to come out. It is such a pleasure and very liberating. Still awaiting my first well-deserved speeding ticket; I've been lucky so far.

Interesting thread; of 11 bio's posted 7 of us (64 percent) are solidly in technology careers; a couple others are on the periphery of technology (like the movie industry.) Is this in general true of SoCal denizens, or just '8 owners in particular?

what site do u bet with? i use cybersportsbook.com, they are the only site that i've found that carries betting lines for the sport of MMA.

i wouldnt bet on boxing to save my life tho, its so corrupt now. a week after that bullshit mosley decision, there was a heavyweight championship bout, chris byrd vs. oquendo. oquendo clearly dominated and when the scores were being read, bryd turned to his wife and said "he won, he won" then they announce bryd as the winner he was more shocked then mosley. another bullshit decision, even more so then the oscar fight, 1 judge had it 117-111 for bryd, which is beyond comprehension. and larry merchant, goerge foreman, and the HBO cast said, "well here we are again, 1 week after the controversial decision". boxing is total **** right now. lack of talent and corruption.
