Oh shoot, the pictures are 300kb's each and the size limit for the forum posting is only 200kb's so it won't let me post. I will have to edit the picture down before I post. I will post them soon.

My VIN# is in the mid 116,000 range. I wonder if engine replacement is an isolated problem within a selective range of VINS.
EctoMart, What is your VIN number by the way to see if there is a correlation?

When it comes to replacing an engine don't rush the dealer. I had a Taurus SHO in 1991 and the engine craked (it was made by Yamaha). I rushed the dealer and the tech didn't replace the engine mounts (which were under recall.), so I had to take it back again - more wasted time.
As long as the dealer is giving you a rental don't sweat it.
Remember this is the first year for the car and this engine and the tech's are learning along with us.
Treat them well and they'll take care of you.
The guys at the SVT shop actually gave me a call to check out my Cobra when they were finding new problems with other cars.

Here are some of the pix of my original engine taken out that I promised before. Note my shoe in the shot for relative comparison. The Wankel is amazing hardware. Comments are welcomed

I'm just glad that we are not reading too many posts like this one. Engine replacements are not a good thing (obviously).
At the same time, it is good to know that Mazda has treated you decently.
