how about some more info? specs on different "stages"? hp/tq dyno sheets for each? what upgraded parts? what kind of port work do you do? do you use a template for port work? dowel pinned? please provide some more detailed info and pics. not a bad price at all. whats average shipping cost? do you use new housings, e shaft, rotors, or irons? what do you consider a good core motor? short block or dressed?

OH

1.stage 2 is a medium street port
2.stage 3 is the biggest port you can go without doing a bridgeport
3. stage 4 will yeild the most hp, but the car will be pretty loud.
4.dowel pin and studing would be extra, there is no need to do this on a na motor.
5.shipping would range $150-$300 depends on your location
6. a good core is a running motor, that doesn't have any damage
7. no! new parts unless you parts are not in spec.

Can anyone vouch for you? Some references, pics, and company history would be nice. It's always nice to have another competent builder around.

Hi! I've been working on rotary motors for 14yrs now, here is a little info about me and the shop.

ZNPERFORMANCE was established 3 years ago with a service department in mind. Our primary goal was to satisfy our customers owning Mazda RX7 and RX8's. Over the years it was becoming very frustrating and time consuming ordering and gathering parts from my former co worker. I decided it was time to create my own website so that I could satisfy the needs of the rotary community. A little about me, I have been working on the rotary platform for 14yrs, I ran the service department for the RX7store. I have rebuilt, ported, installed engines and parts on every car that has come in my shop. The shop has grown a lot within the last 3 years and now, I believe it is time for us to expand. Our goal is to supply customers with fast delivery and the lowest prices for our parts. We will not charge your card if we don't have a part in stock. We will contact every one of our customers with a phone call to update them on the progress of their order. Our phones will be on 24hrs a day 6 days a week to supply our customer with updates and tech questions.

Yes! that is correct, I'm using rotary aviation seals kits. I have used this seals in all of my fc and fd builds with no problems.

what all can you offer as far as rebuilds. as another mentioned do you use port templates, can u use other seals, custom clearenced side seals, balancing. I ask because i am in toledo and have a spare motor that came out of a running car. I am also turboed.

any referances from a rx8 owner?

Yes! as long as there is no damage to rotor or rotor housing, if damage we have a supply of new and use parts.

Yes! I start out with temp plate, but they are usually are pretty small ports, I then make the ports bigger, back measuring and clearance. I have been porting motors for 14yrs, I'm using aviation seals they have been proven for at least 4-5 yrs.

Any info on HP/Torque dyno numbers? Send me a PM if you want to keep that info private. Interested for the future on a few racecar engines. I would need to talk more later about rules and such but for now if would be great to add an engine builder to my list of people I know

I have experienced that many Rx7 shops don't understand well or like to work on the Renny, what could you tell us you feel are the weak points that need to be worked on for longevity not just power? Also how do you feel about coatings and ceramics?

The reason i find that a lot of shop haven't been able to really work on the reness motor, is because of the warranty most of you still had on the motor. I'm seeing more rx8 coming in to the shop now, that the warranty are coming off. I have a couple of ideals that i going to be working on that will be able to produce more hp NA and turbo. A new seal kit is out now, that will really make the motor more reliable. Im not a fan of coating anything inside the motor. Also i've notice a lot of carbon build up inside the motor, which needs to be address.

Can you explain how a new seal kit is going to help and why you feel mazda's OEM seal's are no good? Are you referring to the apex seals? I've been looking for the best apex seals for FI and know lots of owners that has had problems with many top brand apex seals still go. I'd like to hear what your solution to this would be? In terms of internal coatings I have talked to lots of 7 guys that have said they did coatings and opened up the motor after just 2k and all of the coatings are gone. We have all seen pic's of coatings on housings and other internal parts before the motors have been put together but have we seen pic's of the coatings after they crack them open? If anyone has some I'd like to see them. Why don't you like coatings?

The new apex seal are from rotary aviation, which have been proven to be more strong than mazda seals. I don't use mazda seals, because they are just to weak and always break in the same spot, which are the coner. I don't like putting any coating on anything that is going to be mix with oil, i seen a lot of bearings go bad because of the coating coming off.
